Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight 2013

Posted by admin on 2nd September 2013

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight is a nationwide celebration of the best of Scottish produce that takes place each September. Managed by Scotland Food & Drink since 2009, the Fortnight encourages chefs and retailers to source and champion fresh, seasonal Scottish produce, and engages consumers with their local food scene by promoting a huge variety of events on the Fortnight website.

Anyone can organise an event as part of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight, supported by a free web listing (register here), and downloadable branded materials. Last year's participants included retailers from large supermarkets to independent farm shops, restaurants and cafés, food festivals, farmers' markets, food groups and visitor attractions. They celebrated the Fortnight with over 220 activities including in-store tastings, one-off menus, farm tours, foraging days, cooking and baking classes and food and drink festivals.
